6th Graders Build Igloos For Penguin Ice Cubes

Union 6th graders look at an experiment under bright lights

Check out what Mrs. Sousa's class has been up to!  They've been diving into the world of thermal heat by building igloos out of all sorts of creative supplies.  Each team designed their own igloo, and then came the coolest part – they placed a penguin ice cube inside each one!  To demonstrate thermal heat, they put the igloos under a heat lamp and watched what happened. It was an awesome way to learn about how insulation works and how different materials respond to temperature changes. Science is so much fun!
